Louisa Danmeri started playing the ‘cello aged 9 and achieved Grade 8 distinction by the age of 14. She was taught by James Halsey and was chosen to play the Haydn C major ‘cello concerto in Southwark Cathedral while at school. Louisa went on to study German and Music at the University of Sheffield and spent a year at the University of Regensburg studying the ‘cello with Martin Weikert. Louisa also performed concertos with both university orchestras at Sheffield and Regensburg.
She is heavily involved in music education and in 2010 completed the ‘Musicians in Education’ PGCE course through Trinity College of Music and the University of Greenwich. She is also a trained teacher of the Suzuki Method and continues to study the ‘cello with Alexander Boyarsky.
